I see you working Sanaa.
Leave it to FOX to profit off the shooting rampages going nationally.
FOX has given the greenlight to a new series called ‘Shots Fired’ — an event series about racially charged shootings in a small town.
Co-created by Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball) and Reggie Rock Bythewood (Notorious), the timely drama stars Sanaa Lathan (Love & Basketball) as an expert investigator digging into a series of shootings in a small Tennessee town. Alongside a special prosecutor sent to the town by the Department of Justice, she must navigate the media attention, public debate and social unrest that comes with such volatile cases, as the pair seeks justice before the divided town erupts.
“Gina and Reggie have crafted a profoundly moving portrayal of a timely and sensitive issue that pervades our culture at this very moment,” Fox entertainment president David Madden said in a statement. “This is not only an important story to tell, but also an explosive mystery-thriller, and we couldn’t be in better hands both with the creative team behind this, along with the very talented Sanaa Lathan leading the cast.”
Shots Fired will debut sometime next-year, with Lathan being the best reason to watch.
