Jay Z’s empire has anarchy roaming the halls, and he is vying to boost the number of new subscribers to the service.
A Tidal subscription is merely $20 a month, but even with the low-cost it hasn’t done the numbers expected.
Due to the subscriber’s not being as high as forecasted allegedly Jay Z can’t afford to pay his CEO or some of his employees.
Reportedly CEO Andy Chen has rendered his resignation and 25 employees were forced to leave.
Tidal has confirmed that current CEO Andy Chen will be replaced by a former CEO, Peter Tonstad, who will likely accept a significant pay cut.
A press release described Peter Tonstad as Tidal’s “interim CEO,” is leaving the door open just a crack for him to make a hasty exit as well.
