Angela Raiola, known as “Big Ang” on the TV show Mob Wives, died at age 55 after a battle with stage 4cancer.

You can’t argue about a blessing.

Per TMZ:

DMX tried to play master negotiator with a panhandler in NYC … after the guy tried to upsell him on how big of a donation the rapper should make.

We’d say this interaction outside Haus nightclub on Sunday night was bizarre, but honestly … strange things ALWAYS happen when we run into DMX.
But watch how the guy managed to talk his way OUT of getting $5! At least X got something out it.

I mean they are quite a bunch of characters?

To get the Quicken Loans Arena crowd pumped — Cleveland had some soulful fun during the player intros.

Ladies and gentlemen, Cavs Train.

As calls for a boycott of this year’s Academy Awards grow louder — Jada Pinkett-Smith & Spike Lee have already denounced the all-white list of acting nominees — the academy’s president issued a statement late Monday promising a more intense drive to diversify the largely white, male voting body.

“This is a difficult but important conversation, and it’s time for big changes,” Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs said in a statement released Monday night. “The Academy is taking dramatic steps to alter the makeup of our membership. In the coming days and weeks we will conduct a review of our membership recruitment in order to bring about much-needed diversity in our 2016 class and beyond.”

Isaacs’ statement came after director Spike Lee and actress Jada Pinkett Smith each announced that they would not be attending the Feb. 28 ceremony.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Lee said he “cannot support” the “lily white” Oscars. Noting that he was writing on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Lee — who in November was given an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards.

#OscarsSoWhite… Again. I Would Like To Thank President Cheryl Boone Isaacs And The Board Of Governors Of The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts And Sciences For Awarding Me an Honorary Oscar This Past November. I Am Most Appreciative. However My Wife, Mrs. Tonya Lewis Lee And I Will Not Be Attending The Oscar Ceremony This Coming February. We Cannot Support It And Mean No Disrespect To My Friends, Host Chris Rock and Producer Reggie Hudlin, President Isaacs And The Academy. But, How Is It Possible For The 2nd Consecutive Year All 20 Contenders Under The Actor Category Are White? And Let's Not Even Get Into The Other Branches. 40 White Actors In 2 Years And No Flava At All. We Can't Act?! WTF!! It's No Coincidence I'm Writing This As We Celebrate The 30th Anniversary Of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday. Dr. King Said "There Comes A Time When One Must Take A Position That Is Neither Safe, Nor Politic, Nor Popular But He Must Take It Because Conscience Tells Him It's Right". For Too Many Years When The Oscars Nominations Are Revealed, My Office Phone Rings Off The Hook With The Media Asking Me My Opinion About The Lack Of African-Americans And This Year Was No Different. For Once, (Maybe) I Would Like The Media To Ask All The White Nominees And Studio Heads How They Feel About Another All White Ballot. If Someone Has Addressed This And I Missed It Then I Stand Mistaken. As I See It, The Academy Awards Is Not Where The "Real" Battle Is. It's In The Executive Office Of The Hollywood Studios And TV And Cable Networks. This Is Where The Gate Keepers Decide What Gets Made And What Gets Jettisoned To "Turnaround" Or Scrap Heap. This Is What's Important. The Gate Keepers. Those With "The Green Light" Vote. As The Great Actor Leslie Odom Jr. Sings And Dances In The Game Changing Broadway Musical HAMILTON, "I WANNA BE IN THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS". People, The Truth Is We Ain't In Those Rooms And Until Minorities Are, The Oscar Nominees Will Remain Lilly White. (Cont'd)

Lee wasn’t done there.

“The Academy Awards is not where the `real’ battle is,” wrote Lee on Monday. “It’s in the executive office of the Hollywood studios and TV and cable networks. This is where the gate keepers decide what gets made and what gets jettisoned to `turnaround’ or scrap heap. This is what’s important. The gate keepers. Those with `the green light’ vote.”

In a video message on Facebook, Pinkett Smith, whose husband Will Smith wasn’t nominated for his performance in the NFL head trauma drama “Concussion,” said it was time for people of color to disregard the Academy Awards as well.

Is it time for Weezy to maybe retire — and focus on anything but rapping?

It appears that Wayne got visibly upset after a crowd in Milan, Italy didn’t respond with the right energy during his show at Milan Fashion Week.

Wayne was performing at the Philipp Plein show — when the 33-year-old rapper ended up throwing his microphone in the air and walking off the stage according to TMZ. Wayne reportedly bounced after pleading with fans to raise their hands and participate.

I do believe the punishment fit the crime.

Maybe hoping to build a school of soldiers — Sarah Jordan is set to a lot of time — after she was found guilty of 13 charges of child abuse for running a modern-day baby fight club.

Jordan allegedly encouraged toddlers she cared for — to punch each other and sprayed them with water — leaving them “traumatized” over an eight month period.

During the three-day trial in Prince William County, Virginia, the court heard from 10 parents, some in tears, about seeing dramatic changes in their children after they were cared for by Jordan.

One after the other, they testified about troubling behaviour that emerged when their toddlers were moved into her class – nicknamed ‘The Monkey Room’.

Jordan was heard to regularly trip children, step on their toes, encourage them to fight each other and spray them in the face with a hose on full blast.

Parents said their children became aggressive at home, stomped on their toes and became afraid of water. Some refused to get into a bath and most cried when they were dropped off at day care.

Adam Smith told the court his daughter “completely stopped talking” once she was in Jordan’s care.

The allegations came to light after a worried co-worker called child protective services.

Time won’t be healing these wounds anytime sooner.

Rick Ross is coming for 50 Cent again — this time that their battle and constant beef — is the biggest “L” the G Unit honcho has ever suffered.

“At this point, my relationship with Curtis is really amusing, due to the fact that I’m the biggest L he ever took,” Ross claimed during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, equipped with plenty of back-handed compliments. “I’m still enjoying life.

My kids love me.

I’m blessed. And when it comes to Curtis, it’s just unfortunate. I’m not happy that his boxing company went under. I’m not happy that his clothing company went under. I’m not happy his record label went under. I’m not happy that he went bankrupt. I’m not happy that he doesn’t have a relationship with his son. That’s not something to be happy about.

But to see him parading around, still able to hold his head up every day, with all of that weighing on him — that makes me happy. I admire him for being able to hold his head up in a city that has revoked all of his passes. We’ve had a quite enjoyable past, and I still smile when I see him.”

50 is currently suing Ross over use of “In Da Club” on his Renzel Remixes mixtape.

David Bowie was a controversial artist — but the reaction to his passing by fans all across the globe validated his status as a genre-bending legend in the music world.

In the early 1980s — black artist didn’t get much shine on MTV — and Bowie was front and center — heavily criticizing the media company for the neglect.

During this MTV interview from 1983 — Bowie confronted MTV and VJ Mark Goodman about discrimination against black artists:

David Bowie: “Why are there practically no blacks on the network?”

Mark Goodman: “We seem to be doing music that fits into what we want to play on MTV. The company is thinking in terms of narrowcasting.”

David Bowie: “There seem to be a lot of black artists making very good videos that I’m surprised aren’t being used on MTV.”

Mark Goodman: “We have to try and do what we think not only New York and Los Angeles will appreciate, but also Poughkeepsie or the Midwest. Pick some town in the Midwest which would be scared to death by … a string of other black faces, or black music. We have to play music we think an entire country is going to like, and certainly we’re a rock and roll station.”

David Bowie: “Don’t you think it’s a frightening predicament to be in?”

Mark Goodman: “Yeah, but no less so here than in radio.”

David Bowie: “Don’t say, ‘Well, it’s not me, it’s them.’ Is it not possible it should be a conviction of the station and of the radio stations to be fair … to make the media more integrated?”

Bowie was a trend-setter then — even risking is own banishment for black artist.

In what can only be compared to an epic scene from a movie — Mexican authorities have provided epic GoPro footage from that military raid that led to the capture of drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s.

The camera follows the armed men as they storm the house, unleashing round after round of grenades and bullets — searching room to room.

Seventeen élite unit Mexican Marines were met by about one 12 highly armed guards who fought back. The scene when they found El Chapo comes straight from your most fulfilling gangster fantasy.

Video courtesy of ABC:

Eventually the marines determined that the only bedroom on the first floor was Guzman’s and they began pounding on the walls and moving furniture, finding hidden doors, the show said.

His room had a king-sized bed, bags from fashionable clothing stores, bread and cookie wrappers, and medicine including injectable testosterone, syringes, antibiotics and cough syrups, the show said. The two-story house had four bedrooms and five bathrooms. There were flat-screen TVs and Internet connection throughout the house, according to “Primero Noticias.”

The Marines eventually found a hidden passageway behind a mirror, with a handle hidden in the light fixture. The handle opened a secret door, leading down into the escape tunnel, the show explained.

The escape tunnel was fully lit and led to an access door for the city sewage system, “Primero Noticias” said, adding that Guzman had at least a 20-minute head start on the Marines.

The address where Guzman was captured had been monitored for a month, Mexican Attorney General rely Gomez has said. According to Gomez, Guzman and his lieutenant escaped through that drainage system.

“Primero Noticias” said it obtained surveillance footage showing Guzman and his lieutenant emerging from the manhole cover, where they then stole two cars to flee, the show said.

Guzman and his lieutenant were caught on the highway.
